Respecting the Disciplines

The following is a very basic, very rough, and very very much not-definitive set of descriptors that should help to better situate each discipline in the event that you have trouble categorizing something.

These descriptors will not be enforced, but should generally be referred to in the event that a post or project seems "off-topic."

  • Cinema: pieces formed with the technology of moving pictures.

  • Literature: pieces communicated through written work.

  • Music: pieces formed by sounds arranged in time.

  • Performance: pieces communicated by bodies in space and time.

  • Technology: pieces formed in digital space.

  • Visual: pieces communicated through aesthetic qualities.

Post Etiquette

  • Posts are generally meant to contain information about what you're working on or trying to do. While progress pics and celebrations of completion are fine, posts should be less about self-promotion and more about community engagement. Try to give people something to respond to! Open yourself up to feedback, inspiration, and/or possible collaboration — or not, no one cares!
  • Like Projects, there are no rules regarding profanity or general content, but cases involving harassment or offensive material will be assessed individually.
  • Post titles have a 150 character limit

Project Etiquette

  • Projects are meant to encompass a work or body of work that you would like to display in your portfolio.
  • Like Posts, there are no rules regarding profanity or general content, but cases involving harassment or offensive material will be assessed individually.
  • Project titles have a 150 character limit
  • Project descriptions have a 300 character limit
